What extracurriculars look good on a University application?

I am still a few years off University but I would like to know what are good extracurriculars to have on an application so I can do work experience etc. I would love to go the Edinburgh University to study Ecological Science so something related would be great!

1. Anything you have a passion in would be good. Most colleges aren't particular, but academic honor societies such as beta club, national honor society, etc always look good. Definitely do community service clubs.
